Our AI Approach
As artificial intelligence (AI) usage grows, we are keen to exemplify and encourage, responsible and ethical use. This forms a key part of our training, adoption advice and how we approach AI internally.
We focus on ‘human-centred’ or a ‘human in the loop’ approach – seeing AI as tools to assist not replace humans.
In summary we will:
1. Prioritise how AI works for people, focusing on how it can be their assistant.
2. Always remain accountable for the work we do using AI.
3. Be transparent about how we use AI, internally and externally.
4. Protect the privacy of our clients and stakeholders.
5. Ensure our use or AI technology is inclusive and considers the inherent biases.
6. Highlight the risks and limitations of AI tools, knowing when not to use them.
How we use AI:
- We are actively involved in the creation of our training, content and marketing materials. We do not use content or training that is primarily written by AI.
- We sign-off all content created and build in checks when working work with AI tools on more complex tasks, for example using prompting techniques to clarify the reasoning process (e.g. Chain of Thought which details steps to follows).
- We regularly try new AI tools, to see what might help us or the organisations we work with. For this reason, we do not list all the tools we use. On request, we are happy to share more details with our clients.
- We carefully check the privacy and security of any tools we use with client information. We ensure compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Regulations. We will ask permission when using AI meeting note takers.
- Our images are produced by AI tools, unless an image of an actual person or event (these may have been edited with AI tools). We actively look at prompting a wide range of people, to stay away from stereotypical images of beauty.
- We use AI avatars, and have a digital twin, we write the scripts and will be transparent when these are used – clearly labelling them
